Titan America
is pleased to serve the New York and New Jersey market from the Essex Cement terminal, the
only source of cement in New Jersey. Essex Cement has the capacity to store 62,000
tons in four main cement silos. The facility underwent an extensive
modernization of its new cement import terminal in June 2006. One of the upgrades enables cement to be
delivered pneumatically from the ship to the silos through a Kovako
barge-mounted unloader, utilizing two 14-inch steel pipes for the transfer.
Also new to the terminal are specially-designed safety
platforms to aid drivers in safely opening and closing the hatch of their
trucks, as well as state-of-the-art dust collecting technology, in keeping with
Essex’s commitment to protecting the
environment.
